Homage to Ephemeral Nature on the Alentejo Coast, Praia do Pinheirinho
Half a life in nature born, this mega-annum structure, in richness formed.
A visual splendour, unbeheld by time, bleeding terracotta striated so fine.
An ochre of old, a marvel to see, that emblazons a feeling of wild and free.
In total awe of what I see, the sensory rainbow of Chiaroscuro be.
From the beginning, what came before, a primordial glance at nature’s door.
Gritted sand beneath my feet, travelled here effortlessly by wind and sea.
Verdant brush which colours brown, creating life where grains abound.
Susurrant resonance of sifting sand, gently falling upon the land.
Implacable, not a whisper as she roars to the shore, sometimes chaotic, a personal lore.
Exuding life both below and above, calmness stills, portraying her love.
Carving forever, her ebb and flow, her nature’s shores, always on show.
Abyssal in depth, and filled to the brim, as life came forth, ablution of sin.
Time stood still, yet not a second to waste, strolled a slow walk, never in haste.
Created for humanity, a sight to behold, and hopefully you enjoyed our journey told.
I’m grateful for life, so pleased as can be, a beautiful walk with Carla, caressing the sea.
Alas, but not least, it’s time to depart, sunset is coming, glowing warmth in my heart.
I am now at peace; may peace be with you!
